Security Guard stabbed in cashpoint raid

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 28, 2009 – A security guard was stabbed in the leg by robbers who targeted a cash delivery to a supermarket in Lancashire.
The guard and a colleague were taking money to a cash machine at Booths in Longton on Tuesday when they were attacked by two men with a machete.
One suffered a stab wound and the other was hit by the men. Both guards were taken to hospital for treatment.
Lancashire Police believe four men were involved in the attempted raid and two cars were later found burnt out.
They were a VW Golf, found in Stryands in Longton, and anAudi estate car, found near Wymott prison.
Det Insp Marc Nasser said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about this attempted robbery, or for any further witnesses, to come forward and contact police.
"I would be particularly interested in speaking to people that saw the attempted robbery itself or noticed anybody acting strangely around Booths either on Tuesday, or in the days leading up to the incident."
